"Let's get this party started!"

Who: Justin Campbell, Kyan Wilson and everyone else at the Dirty Dancing opening night party
What: PARTY HARD
Where: Broadway, NYC
When: Saturday night
It was all about the understudies tonight with Caden arranging for the entire Footloose main cast to be able to be there for the opening night of Dirty Dancing. There was no doubt about it that they all had to be there to support Kyan, and wouldn't have missed it for the world. They were over the moon for him, and so proud. It went without saying - Kyan nailed the role of Johnny Castle. It had been a sell-out audience, and the standing ovation was totally deserved. Justin was bursting with pride. Kyan used to be his understudy, and despite a blip in the system with them in the early days, Justin couldn't be more proud of his friend now. It was clear why Caden 100% wanted Kyan for the role. He was the new Johnny Castle.
Needless to say, the after party was buzzing with excited guests before any of the actors and actresses from Caden's shows arrived. They had media and press obligations to see to before they could make it to the party, but they did eventually get there. The understudies from Footloose, Cinderella, and Grease would be able to come to the party once their own shows were done for the night. When Kyan and Louise arrived, with their supporting cast (including Skylar) arrived, it was time to really get the party started. Justin had ditched his expensive designer suit he had worn to the theatre for something more comfortable, and he came out to kick off the main party by getting everyone pumped singing Love Shack with Reecy and demanding everyone get up to dance.

Who: Callum and Casey McDonald
What: That awesome moment when things get awesome
Where: Case's room, Mount Sinai
When: Monday morning
Casey had been unconscious for days because he took a pretty nasty bump to the head that actually caused a fracture in his skull. Luckily, it wasn't severe enough to cause any brain damage but when he woke up, he was in a lot of pain so they dosed him up on painkillers that knocked him out all over again. Despite the fact they had a massive fight before Casey wrote himself off and got hurt on their dad's birthday, Callum hadn't left his side. The only time he moved was to go home, shower, shave and change his clothes. He had been sleeping here in a recliner chair at Casey's side night after night, and everyone knew that telling him to do otherwise was pointless.
So, Casey spent ages sleeping and Callum spent ages sitting and editing videos for his college work. There was also the plus that Casey had been moved to Mount Sinai, so Ethan came and sat with him for his breaks. They had made an incredible breakthrough with their relationship now Ethan had confided in what was happening. What actually happened was they slept together, in a very tender and calm way, but it had evolved their relationship and they were on the next level now. Callum just hadn't had a chance to tell Case any of this.
Now, he was scrolling his emails that he let lapse for a couple of days. Mostly because his heart wasn't really in socialising much. This particular email he had opened with a frown, assuming it was spam. As soon as he got through it, though, he nearly dropped his phone. "Oh, fuck!" he cried, mouth dropping open. It was closely followed by a mumbled, 'Fuck what?' and he looked up to see that Casey was awake, just, looking at him. It was the most Casey had said to him since their fight.

That awkward moment when your twin regains consciousness and your first reaction is to slap him in the arm and tell him to never fucking do it again... and then you earn an identical Mom!Slap as punishment.

"My brother is one of my true heroes." - Mark McKinnon
No words could cover how crap Callum was feeling right now. There was a sick fear in his gut, and the only thing drowning it out was the guilt he had over the fight with Casey and the subsequent silent treatment they had been giving each other. Now Casey was hurt in a way bad enough that he was unconscious in the Intensive Care Unit. Because he was so distressed about their dad’s birthday and the thought of going to the cemetery to pay respects had him wanting to drink himself into oblivion, away from where anyone could stop him.
( Callum was struggling with the hospital... )

Who: Julie Fitzpatrick and Sonny Gresham
What: Big sisterly help
Where: Sonny/Jake/Joey's Place
When: After Casey's been located
There was an incredible relief when Euan called Julie and told her that they had located Casey at Lincoln. There had been increasing fear that, if they found him, it would be too late and Euan might have to do that horrible task of telling the family. Julie knew Sonny hadn't been in the best of moods over the week. What had gone down was that apparently Casey had a massive fight with his twin brother, Callum. Callum had really been hoping all his family could go visit their father's grave for his birthday, but with Casey still suffering the crippling effect of PTSD from the events surrounded the death, he lashed out instead of agreeing.
As a result, Sonny became collateral damage. Casey pulled away, told Sonny in a short, abrupt text that he wanted to be left alone. Sonny had no choice but to just roll with the punches, but he had been miserable. Sonny was a sweet kid with a big heard. He had a wicked sense of humour, and didn't take much seriously unless it was vital. This was vital. It hurt when Casey shoved him away because they had gotten to the serious end of their relationship.
Still, Casey was located alive, but not doing so well. It looked like he had gotten incredibly drunk because he was suffering alcohol poisoning which trigger the hypothermia in his system. He either fell in the gutter and hit his head on the ground, or was pushed in the midst of a mugging. He had been stripped of all valuable items, including his designer shirt, watch, ring, white gold chain, belt and shoes. From the cuts and bruising in the locations they were, it looked like Casey may have had a seizure induced by the alcohol poisoning too. He just wasn't in a good condition at all... and no one could say if he would be okay.
Julie had changed hands with Corey to take care of Ciaran so she could go tell Sonny herself what had happened. Poor wee laddie had a flare up in his condition that last few days and had been down with bouts of vomiting on and off. They were trying to manage it at home so he didn't need hospitalising. So far, he seemed okay at home. Joey answered the door to Julie and she gave him a hug, and then briefly discussed how possible it might be to have Casey transferred to Mount Sinai, where the family knew staff there and it might make the whole process easier.
Joey told her that Sonny was out on the balcony, and she went through to find him. "Sonny?" she murmured, sliding the glass door open to step outside.

He's at Lincoln Medical Centre in the ICU. Alcohol poisoning, head injury and signs of hypothermia. He was found unconscious on a roadside in Harlem. He's been robbed. All he had on were jeans and a tank top. They'll need an ID before you can get any further information - Callum should suffice.

Who: Callum MacDonald with Ethan Marshall
What: Twin Sense
Where: Ethan's place
When: After THIS
Knowing what day it was tomorrow, Callum had struggled to get to sleep. He tried not to toss and turn too much, because Ethan was crashed out and he didn't want to wake him. He got up twice, and then went back to bed. Eventually, he fell into a restless sleep cuddled up into Ethan's side. He was glad that Ethan was okay with physical contact, because it would be completely understandable if he wasn't. The last couple of days, Callum had just stayed close to him and they spent a lot of time just being together and Callum reassuring him he was okay with however Ethan needed to take things. Now and again, he tried sending Casey some texts, but they all went unanswered.
( There was one thing Callum and Casey couldn't really explain - the Twin Sense... )

"I'm just so fuckin' depressed
I just can't seem to get out this slump
If I could just get over this hump
But I need something to pull me out this dump,
I took my bruises, took my lumps
Fell down and I got right back up
But I need that spark to get psyched back up
In order for me to pick the mic back up"
• Beautiful, Eminem
Instead of dealing with the fact he wasn't coping with his dad's birthday, or letting his family or boyfriend help him deal, Casey decided to go and get shit-faced instead. No, it wasn't a mature way to handle it. It wasn't rational. It wasn't thought out. It was just plain stupidity, and at the time, he just didn't care. The pain inside had been gradually getting worse as the week, that felt like a fucking decade, went on. He couldn't handle anyone around him, because they all wanted to talk about the fact it was Dad's birthday and they should honour him.
( Shit hit the fan when Callum, the one most likely to push because it was just his nature, tried to insist they should all go to the cemetery together on the day and pay their respects... )

Who? Autumn MacDonald and Kyan Wilson, later joined by Casey, Callum and Mama Lucy MacDonald
What? Meet theFockers mother
When? Sunday before the second show
Where? Backstage at the theater
With Justin in the hospital, the cast was definitely a little on edge with things and worried about their resident little brother. Despite being the star of the show, Justin was the youngest member of the cast, and they all adored him like a little brother. It had taken time to get a cast that meshed this well but now that they had, they were very tight knit and close. It didn't help matters that Kyan was hungover on top of being worried about Justin and not having planned to perform tonight. He'd made it through the first show the best he could, but he was obviously running on fumes. He was so damn tired and he really should've been at home sleeping the hangover off, but he had no real choice here. He was the understudy, and Justin couldn't be here.
They had about an hour before the next show started, and Kyan had taken a nap on the sofa in his dressing room, and was now standing in front of the mirror shirtless and trying to get his hair back in place because he felt bad to ask the stylist to do it all over again when it wouldn't have been necessary if he hadn't taken a nap. Autumn looked on in amusement as he tried and failed repeatedly to tame his mussed hair into the styled look for Ren.
She walked over to him from the partially open door, and stood beside him watching him in the mirror. If there was one amazing thing about working with your other half, it was the fact that, on days when things kind of sucked, you had someone that you cared about there to cheer you up a little. Granted, that probably wouldn't apply if things were bad because you were fighting with said other half, but Autumn and Kyan were still in a bit of a honeymoon phase, and hadn't really had a fight yet. She shifted from his side to stand in front of him, wrapping her arms around his bare waist as she peered up into his eyes. "Maybe you should just let me mess it up so you can blame me when it has to be fixed again," she teased, pushing up on her tiptoes to pull him close for a kiss. Sometimes the best thing you could do in a bad time was distract yourself.

Who: Casey and Callum MacDonald
What: Foiled surprises
Where: JFK Airport
When: Early Sunday evening
Casey had spent the entire fucking day worried as all hell about his twin. The thing about Callum was that he wasn't a complainer. It was very rare for him to volunteer anything along the lines of feeling bad. Casey had always been the clinging pathetic sick person of the family, Autumn was the drama queen, and Callum was the one who would bury himself in bed and sleep it all off barely hearing a peep out of him. So, the fact he had sent a text like this to Casey really worried him.
Autumn was tied up in media interviews with Justin all day too, so he hadn't been able to let her know what was happening. From there, she was going to straight to work so he didn't want to worry her. Sonny was also hibernating after pulling a couple of all-nighters to finish a big college assignment, and in the wake of Rose's wedding, he was exhausted anyway. It had been a tough week for the Greshams and the Shaws, and Casey had been there for Sonny as much as he could be. Even if he was still trying to process all the shit with his family and still being on edge after watching Jesse had a massive fit. Nothing could have prepared him for that.
So, maybe his nerves were just shot all around. He arrived at the airport with plenty of time to spare, and saw on the monitors that Callum's flight from Madrid landed a little while ago. His gut was twisted up in knots of worry about the fact Callum voluntarily told him he wasn't feeling good, and that he was having this feelings like he just needed to come home. That wasn't Callum at all. He had wanderlust, he loved travelling, he was always on the go. Something was unsettled and Casey, being the worrier he was, was like a cat on a hot tin roof waiting for his twin to come through the arrivals gate to meet him.

Who: Jesse Hartley and Casey MacDonald
What: Brothers
Where: Cohasset, MA
When: Late night after THIS
Things had been crazy, to say the least. The decision to go to Cohasset turned out to be for the best, though. Jace knew Jesse wouldn't have gone through with any of this if he had been left to have too much time to think it over. It was strike while the iron was hot, or not at all. What had turned out happening was that Mrs MacDonald had invited Jesse and Jace to stay with them for a couple of nights so they could have plenty of time to get to know each other. It would also give Jesse some time to convalesce and adjust to all this. She had truly been amazing with the news. Shocked, understandably, but both Jesse and Jace were taken under her wing once the news sunk in for her.
She even invited Jace's Nana to stay so they could talk more together while 'the kids' got to know each other better. No doubt, Nana was filling her in on the more deep parts of all this, namely Jace's disability and more about their epilepsy. Nana would have wanted to scope the scene out to be sure what was happening was in Jesse and Jace's best interests because stress wasn't good for them.
They had spent some time together and watched one of the family movies. It was enough for Jesse, though. It was an emotional onslaught for him, seeing his biological father for the first time. He had felt very tired after and both he and Jace went to lie down. Jesse crashed out hard and Jace soon followed soon. It was just after midnight now, and Jesse had woken up with Jace wrapped protectively around him, fast asleep. He had extracted himself from the brace very carefully so he didn't wake Jace really quickly. Jace needed time to adjust to being woken or he got very disoriented and panicked. Just another thing to be aware of when you were around Jace.
But Jesse needed to go to the bathroom and that meant he was going to need Jace's help. He was just holding off as long as he could, because Jace was sleeping so soundly nestled in the warm covers with his feet sticking out the bottom. It was a foreign room and a strange house. Jesse was out of sorts, but he was appreciative of how everything had gone down. He sat on the side of the bed and rubbed his hands over his face tiredly. This was really going to take an adjustment period.

Who: Jace Hartley, Autumn MacDonald, Casey MacDonald and Jesse Hartley
What: That awkward moment you have the same dad
Where: Cohasset, MA
When: Afternoon after THIS
Jace had forcefully begged Evan to discharge Jesse before medically advised. His argument was that it couldn't be against doctor's orders when he lived with the freaking doctor. He had just needed Jesse home, because trying to process all this in hospital with a fucked brain wasn't working. Then, lying awake together in bed the night before, Jesse said if he was going to meet his real father, it had to be now so the guy saw him at his worst. He didn't want to get so far into the process that he thought he had a perfectly functioning illegitimate son, only to get freaked the fuck out by the epilepsy. Jesse had already gone through way too much rejection in his life to be dragged through a hell like that.
So, Nana came to the rescue again when Evan couldn't get the shifts off work and she drove Jesse and Jace to Massachusetts, to a little town called Cohasset. It was a long drive, and Jesse was completely wiped out with Jace not far behind. But this had to be done, or it was going to drive Jesse crazy. Jace didn't know how well his husband was coping with it. Jesse just seemed numb in shock, and probably would struggle to actually believe it until he met his real father, saw what he looked like, what sort of a man he was.
Nana was waiting in the car in the drive, and would wait there for them as long as they needed, she promised. Jace as holding Jesse up around the waist and adjusted his messenger bag over his other shoulder so he could reach up and ring the doorbell. He kissed Jesse's cheek, hating how ill he still looked. "It's going to be okay, whatever happens, baby. I promise. I'm here," he murmured to him while they waited for someone to answer the door.

Who: Casey MacDonald and Autumn MacDonald
What: Brotherly-Sisterly Catch-ups
Where: Autumn's place
When: Follows THIS
The last thing Casey expected to happen on the train trip from Boston to New York was a hook-up. Sex hadn't been on his mind in a very long time. He wasn't virgin, but he wasn't exactly experienced either. He had a boyfriend in junior year at high school for a few months, and he was who Casey lost his virginity to. But the guy moved away and they were too young for the whole long distance thing. Casey hadn't even really been in love with him, just liked him a lot. After that, there was a guy in the summer when their family went away to Atlantic City for vacation. That was just a bit of fun. Really, they were the only two guys Casey had been with prior his father dying. After that, he had a lot of troubles and being with anyone was the last thing on his mind.
Sonny had been a sweet guy just willing to keep him company on the train. They talked, and it was nice. Better than sitting in a miserable heap on the train trying not to keep bawling the whole way. Finally it came out that he just needed a distraction, and whether Sonny had been joking when he offered to give him one or not was irrelevant because Casey had taken him up on it and they had sex in the train bathroom. It had just started with making out but once they were into it, they just didn't stop. Casey didn't regret it either. In fact, they swapped numbers and added each other on Facebook.
Once Autumn picked him up from the station, though, he was exhausted. His sister was getting nothing but grunts or monotone responses from him because he was tired from being over-emotional, not sleeping well the night before, and that post-fuck haze had set in. He was guilty of being a pull-out/pass-out guy in the past. You couldn't exactly do that in the train bathroom. He had fallen asleep in the car ride back to her apartment, where she woke him when they arrived. Then he took a shower and crashed in bed... sleeping right through the night and the next day, probably snoring and drooling in the process too.
Now it was late afternoon and he woke up busting for the bathroom. He used the toilet and brushed his teeth, but stayed in his pyjamas when he headed out into the living room where Autumn was sitting with her laptop open in front of her. "I randomly met Maggie's younger brother on the train," he told her, flopping down next to her and grabbing a cushion to wrap his arms around in front of him. "Which I didn't know until I added him on Facebook and saw his last name and all his family connections," he added through a yawn.

Who: Sonny Gresham, Joey Cooper and Jake Gresham
What: That awkward moment when you're WAY out of the loop
Where: Jake's (crappy, small, shoebox) apartment
When: After THIS
Sonny had been kept out of the loop. Probably accidentally on purpose. He was the youngest, and his older brothers and sisters always had a tendency to leave him out of vital information in the name of protecting him (he was the last to find out about Euan's cancer and Rosie's pregnancy). Sometimes they forgot he wasn't a kid anymore. So now, here he was sitting in an armchair across from a sofa that contained his big brother, Jake, and next to him a hot Aussie hunk called Joey. Who was apparently a doctor. He looked from Jake, to Joey, and then back to Jake. He had just been given a very basic, detail-less version of what was apparently going down here, but it was all news to him, so details would be much appreciated.
"You two are fucking?" he asked, seeking clarification. "But you were fucking before you got here. And now you're..." He waved his finger back and forth between then in lieu of further words. There was a blink, and then another look between both of them. "What about Alice?"

Made it to New York in one piece. No one needs to worry. Tired, need to sleep... for, like, three days.
PS. Thanks, Sonny Gresham for the company on the trip down. Give me a call sometime. I owe you one...
PSS. Everyone else, please just let me sleep.

Who: Sonny Gresham and Casey MacDonald
What: "And we leave the past behind."
Where: Train en route to New York
When: Simultaneous to THIS
Sonny had gotten on the train at Boston right in the middle of a chat with Maggie's friend, Autumn. He had flown in from Florida to Boston when his direct flight to New York had been cancelled due to some mechanical thing wrong with the plane. Sonny was pretty relieved they gave him the option to get on another flight just half an hour later to Boston with reimbursement for his train ticket from Boston to New York. That meant he wouldn't have to get on a plane that just had a mechanical problem. There was a bit of a wait at the train station but soon he got on and found a seat, settling in for the ride where Jake would meet him at the other end.
He was flicking a few messages back and forth, not realising the train was filling up pretty quickly. Soon, a guy who looked to be similar age to him came and took the seat across from Sonny, and when Sonny glanced up, he got an eyeful of a rather healthy package. That looked like it would be a fun handful to mess around with. He couldn't help thinking impure thoughts because once his eyes managed to move upwards, he found the package was attached to a hot guy. Only, his perve session came to an abrupt end when he realised the guy looked like he had been crying. Not just a little bit either. In fact, he was digging around in the side pocket of his bag and soon yanked out a tiny pack of Kleenex so he could hastily wipe his eyes and his nose.
Sonny debated whether to just mind his own business and leave the guy to it, or ask if he was okay. He looked miserable and he kind of hugged his arms over his chest and folded in on himself against the window. Now Sonny felt bad about perving on him. Instead, he just got up off his own window seat, picked up his bag and shifted over to take the seat next to the guy. "You look like you could use a bit of company," he finally admitted with a small, sympathetic smile. He grew up with seven brothers and sisters who had TLC down like bosses, he had learnt from the best when a hug, or just some company was needed.
