Who: Nick and Harry Matheson
What: Should've knocked louder
Where: Home, NYC
When: Late Thursday morning
Since Harry was diagnosed with diabetes, some days he struggled to get going in the morning. Nick or Cheyne had to help him a lot, coaxing him to eat, helping with his insulin injections. Harry was still struggling with those things. He managed most days now he knew what he was doing, but not all days were good days. It was still something Nick would never have wished on his baby brother. Unfortunately, it was something that ran in their family on their dad's side and it was one of those things you just had to accept as your lot in life.
That day, Harry had a slew of medical appointments at the hospital to get his medical clearance to return to his training at Joffrey. Physically, he was in excellent condition because he kept doing things like yoga and swimming to stay healthy in every other way. He wasn't a fan of the restricted diet, but whatever it took to stay alive and not end up comatose again. Nick thought that how late Harry was sleeping that it was probably a bad day, meaning he would have to intervene to get him up so he had plenty of time to shower, eat, have his medication.
When he knocked on Harry's bedroom door, there was no answer. So, he just opened the door and waltzed inside, as you did when you thought you had to wake someone up. It rapidly became evident that he wasn't privy to a whole story here when he walked right into his little brother getting it on with someone in his bed. "Haz! Che cazzo!" he shrieked, slapping his hands over his eyes and shooting back out of his brother's bedroom, slamming the door closed behind him. He didn't even realise Harry had anyone over, whether for the night or they had arrived early in the morning before Nick woke up. Whatever it was, Harry was very much not alone.
Stressed, Nick hurried into the kitchen because he needed more coffee. He needed booze, really, but because of his own diabetes, he didn't drink. He didn't have time to see Harry's guest was. There had just been a slight scream and yell from the pair of them when they were walked in on and when Nick departed the room, Harry was snapping at him. "OH MY GOD, NICKY! YOU NEED TO KNOCK!" Right now, Nick 100% agreed with that. He had knocked but he suddenly realised he needed to learn how to knock a whole lot louder. It wasn't like he didn't know his baby brother was no longer a virgin. Far from it. But it was still his baby brother and this was going to lead to probably the most awkward conversation. If Harry didn't give him the silent treatment for not knocking for the next six months.
