Who: Ali Connor and Max Sullivan
What: Heart-to-heart
Where: Ali & Andrew's home
When: After THIS
With Ali still on maternity leave after having baby Jack, Andrew had been working a few extra shifts just so cashflow was still comfortable. Usually they would spend their kid-free days having time together, usually in bed, because with a lively five year old and a young baby, lovemaking often went by the wayside. Not today, though. It had been the intention, but Andrew was worn out from a hard week at work and fell asleep in the middle of foreplay, which just amused Ali. She was used to being married to a shift worker, and a hard worker at that. Andrew was such a beautiful, chivalrous, traditional guy. Providing for his family was very high on the priority list even if they were comfortable financially.
So, Ali just let him sleep. If he crashed out that hard, he needed it. She had tucked the covers in around him and drew all the curtains so the room was dark and no daylight was escaping in through any cracks. Then she kicked back on the sofa to marathon Once Upon a Time with a pot of tea. Of course, only after she caught up on some housework and doing laundry. They mostly used cloth nappies with Jack, relying on disposable only when they went out or he was being babysat by someone. There was always a pile of laundry to catch up on. Thank fuck for dryers.
She was so chilled out that she lost track of time and when the apartment buzzer went, she jumped in fright and jumped up to get the door so it didn't wake Andrew. When she found Max there, her eyebrows shot up. "You're early. You're never early. What's happened? Is Jackie sick? Are you?" she panicked, locking right into Mum Mode and checking on the baby, the cupping Max's chin with her hand to look him over too.

Who: Jesse Hartley with Jace Turner
What: Reality bites (again)
Where: Home
When: Sunday morning
Jesse was pretty sure he had developed and inner instinct when it came to Jace by now. Maybe they were just so close that it was inevitable progression. When he woke that morning, he knew it had to be early because it was barely light outside. It was definitely something that woke him, to the point he actually bolted awake like he got a fright and feeling blindly with his hand beside him for Jace, he was met with an empty space and cool sheets. That's what it had been. They had been spooning all night, interchanging between the big and little spoon. Even when Jesse had woke somewhere around midnight because he needed the bathroom, Jace woke (or they both semi-woke, to be more accurate) with him and used the bathroom too. Then they went back to bed together and resumed the spooning, quickly dropping off back to sleep.
There was even one point when Jesse sort of began to wake up and felt Jace's new engagement ring beneath his fingers from how close they were curled up together. He must have just dropped back off though. Now his heartbeat quickened and he shoved the covers back, sitting up to turn the lamp on with a husky query of, "Jace, darlin'?" He got up, stumbling a little because he was still groggy and the cold air felt like a rude slap to his naked body, but that was the last thing on his mind. He didn't have to go far, though.
( Jace was on the floor, sort of half sitting up, half slumped over, eyes only slightly open... )

Whoever I told I might catch up with today, can't. Change of plan. It'll have to be another day, sorry.

Justin wants us to go to the Karaoke night tonight. I am both hopeful and terrified all at the same time.
