Hey, love - I know you're busy, but can I ask you something? I know your schedule's mental on a Sunday, so I figure text was better than trying to cut in on your work or Sash time x

When: Sunday night

It had been a crazy day at work for Justin. Sundays always tore him a new one, but he had days off in the wake of it to rest and catch up with himself. He did the end of the week and the weekends, the strings of shows that were always the busiest. That day, the evening show had massive block seats sold to international tours, so those nights always tended to bring the house down. Justin felt his adrenaline rush about five times over the nights that were either VIP, charity, or like this, sold in packages to tourists from overseas who weren't seasoned Broadway visitors, unless they were rich bastards and travelled the world second-nature.

It meant stage door was always nuts. The crowd in the audience had been going wild at curtain call, and he started to feel that buzz of over-hype in his brain. But it was what got him through Stage Door - with beefed up security or he he might have been mauled - because he discovered there were hoards of teenage girls there that night. That would explain why the screaming during the applause had been just that bit more ear-piercing than most nights. He had always been pretty generous at Stage Door, so although he was a whiz with the speed of his autograph signing now, people still wanted to try to chat with him and ask him questions while he was doing it. He did the best he could, but two shows and two Stage Doors, he was wrecked.

It was Ari's first Stage Door with him too, and Justin's new carer, who was usually so cool, calm and collected, even looked a bit frazzled by the end of it. It had actually been Ari who intercepted Justin security at one point and told them it was time to start getting him out of there. It was the right call to make. Justin had been starting to feel hounded and agitated, Ari saw the signs. But it was all that why Justin couldn't just go home and go to bed. He might not even sleep at all that night, it would just be a matter of seeing how he could wind down. He had always arranged to get a milkshake with Cas after the show. He invited her along with backstage passes. Sasha wasn't home that night. He usually spent Sunday nights at his parents, and got a lift to school in the morning with Shannon and his dad. Now, the ride would involve Zeke, who had come to stay with Shannon's family, and Brody, who had transferred to the same school as the others.

Somewhere in the process, Justin didn't miss how upset Merlin seemed. He had been out sick from work for two weeks, but Justin hadn't heard directly what was wrong with him. The weekend was his return, but something wasn't right. He had lost his spark. Not having the opportunity to ask him what was up, Justin went to invite him to join him and Cas after work, but it turned out Cas had already beaten him to the punch. Apparently, while Merlin sat as Billy's understudy, he and Cas had been chatting on and off. Justin was relieved about that. Cas had a huge heart, and it seemed like Merlin really needed some support right now.

They went to Justin's favourite cafe where he always felt safe. A lot of Broadway workers came here, and there were booths lining the walls, so even if fans or theatre-goers came there too, Justin could usually be sitting in the corner of a booth and no one tried to disturb him. The round of milkshakes came, along with some freshly cooked donuts for them to share. He found himself gazing uncertainly at Cas, wondering how she would deal with this if what Zen suspected was true. He wasn't just going to jump on her with a confrontation, though. He wasn't quite sure how he would go about it, but he promised Zenith he would try. He sat back in the booth, finally able to get a breather. "My head is freaking spinning."
