Who: Sasha Stanford and Justin Campbell
What: Ch-Ch-Changes
Where: Justin's place, NYC
When: Friday afternoon

It might have been fucking freezing out, but Justin and Sasha were still up on the roof top garden of the apartment building. When his dad had first bought the apartment in this newly developed blocked, however long ago that was, Mark had purchased his own portion of the rooftop garden. Because why the fuck not? It was gorgeous, and had access to a shared pool, but this part was entirely his. There was a patio area with a barbecue (of course), but it was walled up with glass that couldn't be scaled (for obvious reasons). It was fully secured. No matter how much someone might want to jump, it was physically impossible to.

Which is why Justin could enjoy it, whilst he was generally cockblocked from most other things with heights that could prove a danger. As much as they could without locking him up. He still needed his freedom and to not feel like he was a psycho under lock and key. It was cold, and there was a chance of snow the next day. Still, they were up there, squished onto one of the sunlounges together. They were rugged up in winter clothing, and had lugged a quilt and a couple of pillows up there with them from the spare bedroom.

Sasha, now, was finding out why Justin chose this location for their next date... )

Who? Mark Campbell and Gen Hart
What? Romantic night out
When? During the Great McDonald's Tasting
Where? The Ivy, London

Gen met Mark in the hallway of the hotel, dressed in a knee length sweater-dress with dark leggings and boots, and wrapped up in her winter coat with a Burberry scarf to complete the look. She gave him a soft kiss on the cheek before they headed to the car she'd called to take them to The Ivy, and then they were off. Gen would be lying if she said she hadn't missed Mark desperately lately. She loved this man more than life, and living without him had only served to show her just how much she didn't want to continue to live without him in her life.

What better place than London, really, to rekindle romance? The Ivy was a gorgeous place for dinner, and frankly, Mark looked good enough to eat in that suit. Gen always did have an eye for men who knew how to dress, and while Mark was hardly dedicated to fashion in the same way that she was, he knew the value of a well-tailored suit, and he looked fantastic in one. The two of them were seated at their reserved table before Gen was looking at him over her menu. "I think we all needed this holiday," she confessed quietly. "Maybe more than any of us wanted to admit."

Who: Amarlie-Rose Satori with Justin, Sasha, Gen and Mark
What: Where everything is changing and nothing will be the same again
Where: JFK International Airport, NYC
When: Sunday

Amarlie couldn't believe this was happening. First, she found her mom. Then, she met her brother who, granted probably initially thought she was a serial killer, but now wanted to get to know her. So much so that he had suggested they come along to this spontaneous holiday to London that his dad was taking him and his boyfriend on because Justin was feeling like he needed refresh some happy and fun things in his life.

At first, she thought Gen had been joking. Maybe that's what the family did. They joked. She had soon learned that yes, that was what they did anyway. Mr Campbell was hilarious, with a dry Aussie sarcastic humour to him, and Justin seemed to have that streak in him too. It was probably impossible to avoid that. But Gen hadn't been joking about her invitation, so Amarlie's mind was spinning as she sat there in the First Class airport lounge while they waited for the boarding call for their First Class flight to London.

Amarlie's parents were extremely well off in their own right. This wasn't her first overseas trip, but her parents usually travelled Business Class. This was her first First Class travel, and not only that, Gen and Mr Campbell were paying for her. They were paying for her for the entire trip, and she was stunned. Mr Campbell had booked them a three bedroom apartment suite in London. Justin and Sasha were taking the master bedroom with the king bed, and the two other rooms were twins with two queen beds in them. Mr Campbell was taking one, and Gen and Amarlie the other. That was going to be strange for her, sharing a bedroom with her biological mother when she had been feeling like Gen didn't even want her in the picture. Things had turned a complete 360, and it was mindblowing.

She couldn't help but just sit there and take in what was around her in these moments... )

"Drugs made me feel more normal." - Carrie Fisher

Kip had spent about the last week, give or take, wanting to be dead. He was convinced death had to be easier than the nightmare he was trying to keep living through. Worst part of all, he knew he had no one to blame but himself. He was the dickhead who got hooked on drugs and booze too young - or at all - and he was the one who had done nothing up to this point to try to get help. Even now, it was less about actively getting help and more having no choice but to take it.

Detox was hell. It was living, breathing hell on earth. No amount of Googling, or information leaflets, or verbals warnings could have prepared him for it, because none of those were enough of an accurate outline for him to know what it would feel like. This was the sickest, weakest, and most useless he had ever felt in his life. That was saying a lot, considering how often he wrote himself off with cheap shit booze and spent many a day hungover. At least he could sleep through that. He couldn't sleep through this. The pain was too agonising. He could get comfortable, and he ended up camped out in the bathroom frequently. There was no magical miracle pill he could pop to take the edge off. Even if there was, like anyone was going to let him fight substance detox by giving him another fucking substance.

What he knew was that if he had been left alone with this, or even simply left with Garrett, he would be dead... )
