"No need to worry."

Who: Walker Chester and Sawyer Bennett
What: New hands-on dad problems
Where: Pediatric Surgical Unit, Mount Sinai
When: Simultaneous to THIS
Walker was just having a bit of a word to Liam, who had performed part of Fin's procedure. It was mostly doctor speak, where Walker could get a few more clinical details about the ins and outs of what happened, that he could impart onto Sawyer to help him care for Fin during his recovery. It wasn't your run of the mill appendectomy. Most people who had one of those were in and out in a short time, and home the day after. That was why Liam's team had been involved, because it wasn't general surgery.
But just as he was chatting with the young Surgical Resident, Walker spotted Sawyer pacing outside of Fin's room. Fin was sleeping when they wheeled him back to the ward, and he kept sleeping while the nurse took his first set of obs. Because Fin had been asking for Shannon in Recovery, even when he wasn't really all that with it, they thought it was a good idea to let Shannon just sit with Fin while he slept off some of the anesthetic.
Walker was pretty sure Sawyer was either about to go in there and hover over Fin, watching every breath he took like a hawk (not all that unlike a parent of a brand new baby; to be fair, Sawyer had a lot of years to catch up on) or go in there and try to figure out a way to feed his kid pepperoni via his IV line in case he lost more weight after the surgery. After what happened in the ER with Shannon, the poor kid needed some time alone with Fin to reconnect. Walker thanked Liam for filling him in, and gave the younger doctor a grateful pat on the shoulder before heading over to where Sawyer was.
"I hear if you throw pepperoni discs from a distance, they can take an eye out," he joked, coming up beside his lover to lay a little bit of humour over the situation.
