Who? Kelly Jensen, Shannon Webster, and Sam Campbell
What? Paths that keep crossing
When? Monday morning

Kelly had the day off at the office for the holiday, but Shannon's doctor had been ill at the time he'd last been scheduled for a visit, so he agreed to get some people in on Memorial Day just to help make sure everyone was seen in a reasonable amount of time. He was a great doctor... a pediatrician who worked primarily with kids who had health issues or injuries like Shannon's, and he was a great young doctor. Shannon was only here for a checkup, but with his injury, it was important to keep a finger on the pulse, just to be sure everything was working as it should be. It was far too easy for him to end up in a bad way if he didn't get the checkups on a regular basis.

The downside of this particular trip was that her mom was out of town, which meant she had all three of her own kiddos in tow as well. The old adage about herding cats proved more than true when it came to her three lively sons. They were well-behaved, just very energetic, and it was a damn lucky thing that the pediatric ward had plenty of toys to distract them... if they could just get to the damn waiting room.

They were rounding the corner to the nurse's station to check in and let her know that Shannon was there to see the doctor when Kelly saw Sam, still in his scrubs, standing by a man who could only be Mark for all the looking just like Sam he was doing. And then she was standing there actually thinking that Sam looked fantastic, and debating with herself as to whether she should go over and say hello to him or not. On one hand, he was talking to his brother, who was going through hell with his son in the hospital, but on the other, Sam had been very open with her lately, and truthfully, she didn't want him to think not even for a moment, that she didn't care and wouldn't reach out to him when he was going through hell. At that point, though, Spencer escaped her hand and ran over to where Mark and Sam were standing, promptly waving hello. So much for having a chance to make the decision herself.

Just wanted to give you a head's up before you get back. He's been cutting again. He's got cuts all over his thighs and stomach. The stomach's badly infected. I need to try to get some sleep, but Sammy's with him until you get there.

"Do it if you want to, babe." That had been Lincoln's eventual answer to the whole donating jizz to lesbians cause. Or a lesbian and a half, as Angela kept reminding Clint. She was most definitely bi, and he knew that from personal experience in their past relationship that was never meant to be. Said relationship being a contributing factor to him being their first choice of babymaking juice. That whole part of the deal he hadn't seen coming at all.

Now he was sitting on the sofa with his cousin's one year old baby girl in his lap. Beside him, his husband was in a deep sleep with his face buried into against the sofa cushion... )

"Recovery begins from the darkest moment." - John Major

Zoran had been in the PTSD residential rehab facility for about three weeks now. Most of that time he had spent quite numb, feeling like the therapy was bouncing off his emotional walls and not penetrating anything inside him. But there was no success or failure with a place like this. He kept going through the daily motions. He attended the one-on-ones with three different psychiatrists - specialists in grief therapy, family violence, and carers of addictions. He attended the mixed bag group sessions. He did the activities. He tried the meditation. He went for the walks. He listened to the motivational speakers.

Still, nothing felt like it was getting through. On top of all that, he had both Caleb and Naomi staying in Arkansas doing some other stuff in between the family visitation sessions they were allowed for three hours a week on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays... )
