Justin didn't know what woke him and waited out those first few woozy and disoriented moments until his might caught up to where he was and what he was feeling. It was akin to a passing motion sick feeling and a result of suffering long-term C-PTSD related nightmares and flashbacks. He had sleep issues his whole life so it could sometimes be surprising to wake up from a peaceful sleep. Most nights, he only achieved it with medication designed to give him a dreamless sleep but they didn't always work. Most nights were just potluck and depending on whether his moods were stable. Thankfully, they finally had been in recent days.
It took him a bit to realise it was his phone buzzing on the nightstand. Some nights, he'd turn it off completely but he had only put it on silent that night. He blindly grabbed for it and squinted at the screen to see what it was. As soon as he saw it was an incoming Skype call from Cas, he answered it, whispering so he didn't wake Sash asleep cuddled up against him. "Cas? Fuck, it's, like... after two am. What the hell..."
