Who: Mark Campbell, Justin Campbell and Sasha Stanford
What: When everything changes
Where: Casa de Campbell, Upper East Side
When: After this
Mark left work early that day after an important meeting to get a sworn deposition signed, sealed, and delivered. He made sure everyone knew he was taking a few days family leave now Justin was out of hospital and there was a massive elephant in the room that needed to be addressed before Justin figured out something was going on. He was discharged the day before but obediently followed doctor’s orders and went to bed as soon as he was home and crashed, relieved to be back in his own bed with Sasha.
When Mark arrived home, he heard the piano up the hall, which didn’t surprise him at all. It was a good sign that Justin was in a better headspace. He wasn’t going like a bull at a gate with the piano like he did when his depression was set in. He put aside his briefcase, taking a folder from the top of it. After he changed out of his work clothes into some jeans and a t-shirt, he went through to the chillout room where Justin’s grand piano now lived, along with anything else a bunch of teens could possibly need when they hung out together… something they hadn’t done here in a little while. Justin was sitting at the piano in his cotton bathrobe but he was keeping an eye on Sash while he played, who was sitting on the sofa, arm draped over the back of it and using his elbow as his pillow.
“Is this what bed rest looks like now, kiddo?” Mark asked Justin when he came over and ruffled his hair and kissed his head. The thing was, if Justin could sleep on a piano, he probably would. “You okay, Sash?”
( Justin stopped playing and gave his dad a sheepish smile... )
