Honey... I'm so sorry. I know you're still in New York... and I want to try and fix our relationship. You're my daughter... You came from me. And I love you.

Who: Amarlie-Rose Satori and Paris Hart
What: When your brother is depressed but still pwns you
Where: Mount Sinai, NYC
When: Thursday
When Sasha said he had to go to the hospital to pick up one of Justin's medications he needed, Amarlie didn't think anything of it. Justin was still in bed, he hadn't left his room since the night before last. Sasha asked if Amarlie wanted to go with him, promising him it wouldn't take long. Justin's dad had a late start at work, so he was home anyway. Amarlie liked this part where she got to be part of Justin's life, and spend time getting to know Justin's boyfriend. She couldn't deny it... she adored them both to absolute bits. Sasha was such a sweetheart, too, which is exactly why Amarlie didn't, for a second, expect to be so sneaky.
She didn't know the hospital at all, so she just followed along with Sasha, who seemed to know where he was supposed to go. They were chatting about something completely random when they caught the elevator up a few floors. Sasha had been telling her how he had been supposed to go back to Boston for a couple of days to help with more packing, but his parents had a pile of extended family land on their doorstep to help out, so they told Sasha to stay in New York because Justin was on a downward swing with his mood this week. Sasha's folks sounded wonderful. Amarlie couldn't wait to meet them when they came down to New York.
"Here it is," Sasha said, gesturing to a door. He gave someone in side a small wave, and then, "Sorry, don't hate me. Justin's sick, gotta go!" Then he was pissing off, literally jogging, back up the corridor from where they just came. Amarlie was left standing there with her mouth hanging open, looking around and feeling dumb. WTF?
"Sasha!" She called after him, but he couldn't move quick enough. He hadn't even taken any medication! They hadn't gotten anywhere near a pharmacy, either. She looked around, trying to navigate herself with the signage. Then it hit her.
Oncology Outpatients Unit.
She was standing in the doorway, and couldn't stop herself looking in. "U-Uh... I... um..." she stammered when her eyes fell on the patient in the bed, with another guy sitting beside him holding his hand. She only just caught herself from sweating when she realised what had happened. Justin set this up. He knew she would resist if he suggested it, so he pulled Sasha in on his evil genius plan. Now all Amarlie could do was stand there, probably looking dumb as all hell, staring at her apparent uncle with cancer in a hospital bed hooked up to a multitude of tubes.
