I want love. I want to fall in love and feel the words of all the love songs in the world. I want to be hugged by someone who doesn't want to let go. I want to be kissed like my lips taste better than all the candy in the world. I want to be naked under the covers with someone who tenderly maps out every inch of my body so they don't forget. I was the butterflies. I want the smiles. I want the anticipation. I want the romance. I want the TLC.
But I just don't think anyone out there is made to fit me.
I don't think everyone has a Soul Mate.
What if some souls are made to just be alone until the last breath?
Why does not having love hurt so much?
But I just don't think anyone out there is made to fit me.
I don't think everyone has a Soul Mate.
What if some souls are made to just be alone until the last breath?
Why does not having love hurt so much?
"A little bit of disregard."

Who: Shannon Webster with Fin, Reecy, Sawyer, Walker... and Kip
What: Just getting in the way
Where: ER, Mount Sinai, NYC
When: After THIS and THIS
Shannon was pretty sure that night was the very definition of 'horrible'. He had that niggle in his gut when he saw Fin's Facebook post the morning before about having a weird pain in this stomach. His boyfriend had managed to cleverly palm it off, though, insisting Shannon keep his plans with his family coming from upstate and a sibling hangout date he had with his big sisters. When he told his sisters he wanted to break the plans, they both managed to (unintentionally) make him feel guilty as hell for trying. Zara even went with 'You've got all summer to hang with your man, Shanny. Just give us one afternoon!'. Needless to say, it put him in a bad mood anyway, because he couldn't shake the feeling Fin was sick. Maybe it was just the start of another 'dizzy thing', as Fin called his episodes, but they never started with a pain in the stomach.
There was also the fact Shannon had noticed Fin had been off his food those past few days. It had been a running joke at the time. If Fin said he wasn't hungry, it was like, 'I'm not saying that too loud or Dad will try to force-feed me pepperoni'. Still, Fin was usually a monster eater. He loved his food. He could sit and eat a whole pizza in one go, and half the menu fro McDonalds was ordered if they went there on a date. Maybe it was the cold they both had, but Fin's appetite dissipated. He hadn't even wanted any of the soup Shannon's mom made them when they had the sniffles for a couple of days. At Layla's party, he ate half a Tootsie Roll Bar, and that was it. And there had been loads of candy on the go there.
It was maybe mid-afternoon that Shannon sent Fin another text and asked him how his stomach was. All Fin said was 'Still there'. At that point, Shannon just didn't care if he pissed his sisters off or his extended family visiting thought he was rude. He didn't care if they all thought he was suddenly over-obsessed with having a boyfriend and that was all he could think about and talk about it. It wasn't like that. He even got into a fight with his mom, who was firm with him and said it was rude to leave before the family sat down to dinner because his aunt had made some comment about how far they had driven.
( Shannon did something that was probably not a good idea, but he didn't care about that either. He called Kip and asked him to come drive him to Fin's straight away... )

Who: Kip Pryor and Shannon Webster
What: "And I would have stayed up with you all night, had I known how to save a life."
Where: Mount Sinai, NYC
When: Little while after THIS
They would have time for a coffee. It would be a bit of a wait. That was what the kind doctor who was apparently dating Fin's father told Kip when he asked. Of course, he was having an internal anxiety attack about asking because he didn't feel like he deserved to be involved in any of this. But he told Shannon he would go in and find out what was happening. Armed with the knowledge that Fin had been rushed to surgery to get rid of the nasty appendix wreaking havoc on his insides, Kip knew this was his moment. If he fucked this moment up like he had fucked so many others up in the past, it would all be done. Game over.
He didn't get coffee. He wasn't really much of tea, but he didn't want to get Shannon wired when he would already be torn up inside over what happened. In all honesty, it had taken a hell of a lot of inner self-control for Kip not to step up and punch that nurse who said that to Shannon in the dick. He deserved being punched in the dick. The rude cunt. Hadn't he seen how shit that made Shannon feel. Kip hadn't seen what happened, but he heard it and heard Shannon burst into tears. That was when he hadn't been able to slink in the shadows like the loser scumbag he was anymore. He couldn't just let everyone palm Shannon off like he didn't matter. He fucking mattered.
When they got to the cafeteria, he found small table in the back by the wall, away from the thoroughfare. He pushed Shannon up to the table and then went to get them some tea. It was probably going to be more shit than usual being hospital offerings, but it didn't matter. He didn't have a lot of cash at his disposal, but he counted out some change from his pocket and had just enough to pay for two cups. He brought them back and set one down in front of Shannon. He contemplated taking the seat across the table. Instead, he pulled one of the chairs right up to Shannon's side and sat beside him, hesitantly wrapping his arm around him.
"Bet he's gonna want to see you as soon as he's not out of it after the anesthetic," he offered quietly, not sure of what else to say.
