Who? Reecy Chester and Naomi Duval
What? "The way we're movin' like introducing us to a new thing..."
Where? Backstage at the theater... and on
When? After the Saturday night Chicago show

Naomi had done a redecorating job on Mark Campbell's office while Zoran had been away. It wasn't exactly how she'd expected to be spending her time in New York, but while she was out of LA, she may as well be making a little extra money along the way. It had been a fun job, and Mark's new office design looked incredible. She was proud of it. In thanks for getting it done even more quickly than expected, Mark had given Naomi a pair of VIP tickets to Chicago that he and Justin had been planning to use before Justin had fallen ill and ended up in a treatment facility.

She'd graciously accepted them, though a part of her was bummed out that they weren't Footloose tickets... Then again she wouldn't really care that much to see it without Justin rocking the main role, and Chicago was supposed to be really good, too. She'd heard great things about the cast, and she was looking forward to seeing it, if only to have a night out. She ended up giving the other ticket to a friend in the City... the same one she'd gone to the Dirty Dancing party with, with the agreement that the two of them would sit together, but would arrive and depart separately, if only just because Naomi, while she loved having friends, sort of kept to herself outside of the public arena.

The show, much to her surprise, though, was absolutely stunning. And by the show? She meant Reecy Chester, the sexy brunette starring in the role of Velma Kelly. So maybe there'd never been a true admission to herself that she was hot for women, but she'd be lying if she said she even knew half of what happened in the play when Reecy's Velma was on stage. Aside from Reecy herself being absolutely stunning, and Naomi's mind wandering to incredibly dirty places.

She was incredibly grateful that the VIP admission included a backstage pass, and hoped like hell that Reecy would be back there when they went backstage... and she also found herself being incredibly grateful that she'd worn something sexy... A black one shoulder top accented with metal studs, a pair of tight distressed jeans, and a matching red Louboutin clutch and pair of pumps. She was definitely dressed to impress, but with a casual easy edge to her look that she hoped translated well backstage.

They met their escort backstage, and he gave them the basic rules of behavior... A sad thing that anyone should have to be told not to be an utter shithead, but Naomi could understand why it was said, and then they were lead backstage to meet some of the cast and crew. The woman who played Roxie Hart said hello to them, and it actually took half a second for Naomi to even realize that she'd been in the show... One-track mind had very much engaged at this point. And her mind was on finding Velma Kelly herself.

Who: Zoran Jennings and Caleb Leary
What: "This distance between me and you."
Where: Caleb's place, NYC
When: Sunday morning

Zoran found himself quite emotionally exhausted after the trip home and going to see Melody, receiving her and Brett's devastating news. Not just that they had lost the baby, but that they decided a relationship between them wasn't going to be able to work after it happened. Sometimes, things just couldn't be fixed. If there was anything Zoran knew, it was that. He didn't have the emotional stamina anymore. It would take time for him to rebuild that. He didn't try to fight it. He decided what both he and Melody needed was time together. Not just to catch up, but to just be together and not even have to say anything, like they spent many a night all those years ago when he first came to New York. Melody asked him if he wanted to stay, and he did. That was exactly what he wanted, and what they both needed.

They stayed up all night watching old movies and cuddling on the sofa together. They ordered some takeout to be delivered and Melody nearly did a victory lap when she saw that Zoran was, indeed, eating solid food again and keeping it down. It was most definitely a victory for him. It was a sign that his treatment had been a success on many levels. He would never be miraculously healed, but it was a simple band-aid fix either. It was three months away, facing every day all his demons and learning how to live with them.

He ended up staying a couple of nights at Melody's, but now, come Sunday, she had not-so-subtly asked him if he was going to go see Caleb, or whether at some point in his treatment, he had come to the conclusion that he couldn't do that either. Zoran was able to tell her that he hadn't made any drastic decisions like that. Mostly because he knew it wasn't a choice he could make over so much of a distance. It could only be about going forward now, and time would only tell if he and Caleb had anything able to go forward on. It would be finding a new way, because the old way wouldn't work anymore.

Zoran had spent a long time looking at himself in the mirror that morning. He looked so much like how his dad had in the old photos he would look at when he was a kid, when his dad was young and healthy. He knew he would ultimately go back to the cosmetic changes he had made when he went back to the band, but it would probably mostly be because his reflection reminded him so much of how his dad was in the good times, that it just hurt. In the rehab clinic, though, keeping up the cosmetic masks had been the last thing on his mind. His black hair had grown out into the natural blonde it was, and it was slightly long and a little curly. People who knew his dad when he was younger always said he looked just like him. Zoran was pretty sure it was too much like him to keep this going. For now, it was just how he was. There were no masks, no disguises. Just him, exposed and open, save for the ink he had done over the years.

He let out a heavy sigh and then rang Caleb's doorbell. He had managed to quit smoking in the clinic too, but he had taken it back up when he got to New York. He needed some vice to keep his nerves under control in having to come back here and try to pick up the pieces.
