For Clint’s entire life, he always lived in the moment. There was no point looking back to yesterday and worrying if you fucked up; it was done and there was do-over. There was no point looking forward, because in a fucking heartbeat, it could all crash and burn anyway. All of a sudden, he found himself thrust into thinking about the past, worrying about the present, and fearing the future. None of this he was used to, and he was usually hardcore enough to swallow up any pain by going into something like a hardass bull at a gate. He was usually there to fix other people’s shit, by any means possible, rather than having any of his own.
