I've managed to stick my nose in far enough on Tanner's case and had one of my best attorney's allocated as his Independent Child's Representative for his parental and custody hearing.

Dani is an incredible attorney. She's a single mother with a young son herself. She has a lot of interest in working in child protection cases. Because Quentin was insistent that his case remain completely independent of Tanner's, we don't have a conflict of interest scenario here. She'll represent Tanner in all court proceedings. Which means she will be in the position to make strong recommendations about his future.

That's a good thing. We want someone on Tanner's side who genuinely cares what happens to him either way. Even if the best thing isn't for him to be with us, we want him to be somewhere safe and protected. Are we allowed to meet with her, or is that a problem because he's the one she represents?

If you accidentally ran into her somewhere our friends spend a lot of time, whatever you talked with her about would be off the record.

Don't worry too much. You'll be given an appointment time where she'll have to meet Tanner. You'll meet with her in person there and she'll probably talk to both of you. It will be important for her to see how he engages with you and responds to you.

Nope. She'll know if you're trying to put on a show for her.
