Appendicitis. We had, like, spewnami overnight so I called an ambulance for him. I need to get home and wash his sheets, but it can wait.

I'm going to come wait with you at the hospital... Or if you need to go home for a bit to put things in the wash, I can wait.

Have you told Brendan?

No, no. You don't need to do that. That's way, way above and beyond new girlfriend territory. Yep, I called Brendan at, like, 2.30 this morning. He came straight to the hospital. Which I'm glad, because Trey's told me he wants to tell Brendan he loves him.

I was your friend before I was your girlfriend, and I truly don't mind, sweetheart. If you've been up that long, you should at least try and get some coffee in you, because I know you're not going to go to sleep if you're worrying about Trey. Oh, wow. That's pretty awesome. Brendan's a sweetie. I'm glad he and Trey have each other.

Seriously, it's okay. It's not pretty. He was really sick. All I could do was help him change out of what he was sleeping in so he could go in the ambulance. I'm kind of just agitated inside. Spooky twin sense thing.

And I'm seriously okay with coming to stay with you at the hospital or whatever you need in the meantime. I can take tonight off, too, if need be. Caden will understand. Yeah, I get that... Casey and Cal have the same thing, and when Cal was really sick, Casey was a mess.

I've told Caden I won't be in for a couple of nights, though if Justin can't make it, I will. You would voluntarily let your understudy step in? Some people think it's bullshit, but I only feel like this when Trey's really sick or really upset.

I would for a situation like this one. That's what understudies are there for. I don't think it's bullshit, but I also have Case and Callum.

You know, she actually thinks she's a "better" understudy than I am. I don't even know what that is supposed to mean. Are you close to them?

If we're measuring how good an understudy is based on their ability to piss off a makeup artist, then she might be. Otherwise? Not even close. Yeah, we're pretty tight knit. We always were, but I think losing Dad just made us hold onto each other that much more.
