It was strange, but Kade felt a sense of quiet relief settle over him listening to Alec talk about these things. They were probably the hardest subjects they could be going over but it wasn't about that. It was just the fact they were talking at all, without the tension and without the weird distance that had been between them since they broke up. After the horrible Bondi event, when he and Alec decided to resume the relationship they had initially began when they were in high school, he really thought they'd go the distance that time. But they both severely underestimated the impact those events at Bondi would have. But they didn't talk enough. Not even nearly enough. This was a conversation they should've had long ago. "Is that how unwell he is again now? Is it that level? I known you haven't actually seen him but from what I was hearing, it was really bad." He watched Alec with his tea, but so far she seemed to be tolerating it okay. "What about you? Can you still see me as family or is this all a waste of time?"
