"Baby, just for tonight we're making love worldwide."
Who: Justin Campbell and Sasha Stanford
What: Down Under Adventures
Where: Sydney, Australia
When: After this
Sasha, being the unassuming introvert that he was and always had been, could think of little worse than a family reunion. He had been to one in his own family in recent months and other than catching up with some cousins he had always gotten along with, the family he barely knew reduced themselves to grilling him about Justin. At the time, Justin was okay to go along with him but Sasha didn’t want that. He had seen the writing on the wall and it was before Justin was recovered enough to have handled it well. A few months later, Justin came to a family wedding with him as his date but luckily, the family respected the fact it was the bride and groom’s day and mostly left Sasha and Justin alone to do their thing, which was mostly sticking to quiet corners until the night was over.
Now, it was a Campbell Family Reunion in Sydney, something that had been in the making since before Mark even knew Justin existed and was likely going to have upwards of 300-400 people attending from around the world. So many people that Justin was going to be performing at the party. At first, Mark wasn’t sold on the idea. Sasha discovered that Justin’s grandparents - Mark, Sam, James, and Alec’s parents - were both from large families. Justin’s granddad had eight brothers and sisters and his nana was one of ten children. That meant Mark had a LOT of cousins and it was one of these cousins who emailed him and asked him about Justin performing because not only would it be incredible but it would be a way for the family members to see Justin in the flesh, in action, without everyone getting up in his face on the night.
This was before Justin’s drug relapse and subsequently severe psychotic episodes. It was before he signed a record and solo tour deal, and before Caden decided to officially take Footloose on the road. Back then, Mark had his reserves about it but he left the choice up to Justin at the time. Then everything happened and Mark told his family it was unlikely they would even get to Australia for the reunion, let alone Justin being up to performing for the family. But Justin bounced back really well and when they realised it timed with Sasha’s spring break from school, the whole family ultimately decided to go Australia for a couple of weeks.
Knowing Justin was doing well, Sasha was excited about this trip because other than the reunion, he and Justin were determined to have some fun and spend time together exploring Sydney and enjoying that side of Justin’s heritage. Besides, Sasha absolutely adored Nana and Granddad Campbell and the feeling was mutual. They had an awesome house and the weather was apparently still nice in Australia this time of year. It was going to be a lot of much-needed fun.
Like always, Justin didn’t fly well. He had notoriously bad airsickness because some of his psych meds made him more prone to it. Sometimes, he could take valium which put him to sleep for the flight but he only managed about five hours sleep of a twenty-one hour flight. The rest of it, Mark, Gen, and Sasha took turns sitting with him, trying to make sure he kept his fluids up and his meds down whenever his alarm went off that he was due for his next dose. The most important of the medications, the antipsychotics, were given by injections so there was no added stress that he couldn’t get the medication into him.
They flew into Sydney around six am and Justin was in desperate need of sleep, starting to deteriorate emotionally because he was so tired. They had the VIP treatment on their side and were ushered out of the airport with minimal fuss. Justin’s grandparents took Justin and Sasha straight back to their home so Justin could get to bed while the rest of the family arranged for getting luggage baggage claim and taxis back to the house. Justin had a little bit of a breakdown once they got in because he didn’t want to eat or drink anything to take his medication with, so Sasha suggested they take a quick shower together. Justin was frustrated with himself for snapping at his grandparents and had an exhausted cry in the shower because when you had a mental illness and spend a majority of a twenty-one hour flight hopping timezones throwing up or feeling like throwing up, it took it out of you. He crashed in bed right after the shower, not even having the energy to finish drying himself.
Sasha slept for a little bit but set his watch alarm to vibrate around lunch time. He wanted to try to combat the jet lag so he didn’t end up being hit with migraines. Justin was still out like a light when he got up and the house was pretty quiet for one filled with visitors, even if the place was huge. It was a little stuffy in the room and he didn’t want Justin to overheat so he opened the window a little to let in some of the sea-breeze and put the ceiling fan on low to circulate the air. Then he took his book downstairs and discovered that some of the family had gone for a walk down to the beach with the kids (Jamie, Cameron, and Codie) to try to hold off the jet lag a little so they would sleep that night on Aussie time. Nana made him a sandwich and he went outside to eat it on the deck in the shade reading his book and listening to music.
He lost track of time for a bit. They clan came back from the beach and Codie came out to sit with him for a little bit. Codie was still non-verbal but he had started responding to cues about what he needed and was drawing cues more and more. But he seemed to like just sitting with people and taking things in at his own pace. He adored his new cousins and Sasha was classified in that as Justin’s partner. They both had all the time in the world for him and Justin had even taken him to a couple of his rehearsal sessions and the music therapy had proven extremely beneficial for Codie. But it was still very much a work-in-progress. Sam and Lisa were worried how he might go with this long-haul trip and meeting family, so they had to play it by ear.
Eventually, Justin came out onto the deck to find Sasha, barefoot and in a tank top and trackpants, hair all over the place because he slept with it wet. He was trying to rake it down with his fingers padding across the deck. Sasha put his book aside with a smile, holding his arms out for a hug. “Hey, beautiful. You look better. How are you feeling?”
“Better,” Justin confirmed sheepishly, climbing onto the sun-lounge with Sasha and happily snuggling into the hug and gave Sasha a kiss. “Hate jet lag, though. That was a fucking horrible flight. Did you sleep, or have you been trying to stay awake? I’m sorry for being such a mess. I thought I’d be better than that.”
“It’s okay. You know you don’t have to apologise for that. You couldn’t help it. You were dehydrated and your electrolytes all out of whack, and really really needed sleep. Did drink the Gatorade I left for you? I slept a bit. I want to try to get on Aussie time so my head doesn’t fuck up on me. I want to enjoy the trip. Has the feeling sick stopped? I can make you something to eat if you’re hungry,” Sasha offered, because he would probably only relax once he knew Justin’s immediate needs to keep him well were taken care of. “Oh, and Codie and Sunshine have Dory somewhere. She was with you until just awhile ago when she needed to pee so they were going for a little walk with Lisa.”
Justin nodded, knowing his pup was regularly borrowed by family members to take her for walks if he was out of action. They knew she would give them a warning if she didn’t think he was safe to be left. “I had the Gatorade but I’m not really hungry yet. I’m not feeling sick, I just don’t have an appetite yet. Thank fuck I’ve stopped feeling sick. I puked enough on that flight to last the entirety of this trip and beyond. Because both going to be well for our whole holiday. I promise. You look so sexy in board shorts. You know what I do kinda feel like…” He brushed his hand over Sasha’s stomach with a smile, taking Sasha’s hand and with their linked fingers, guided their hands down to his lap.
Sasha was expecting Justin to say something like a walk or a swim but his mind was never wired to automatically think sexy things. That was definitely more Justin’s forte, when he was in the mood. And Sasha could feel he was definitely in the mood and he laughed. “So, I can take this as a sign that you really are feeling better, huh? What a difference a sleep makes. You know there are people are staying in every bedroom upstairs. We can’t do that,” he said, voice dropping with a glance over his shoulder to make sure no one could hear their conversation or see what they were doing, cheeks warming.
“Why not? It’s my room. I’ve got a do-not-disturb sign. No one’s gonna know what we’re doing, baby,” Justin laughed softly and started to kiss Sasha, slow and relaxed. “I’m not saying anything, like, hot heavy. Just more of this but naked. Spooning with benefits. I wanna feel you inside me. It’s our holiday, we’re allowed to relax. Not feeling it? I can take care of myself. That works too. I love when you’re all shy and bashful. Your red cheeks are so cute.”
“No, no. Definitely feeling it. Let’s go. I don’t wanna get too into making out and either get sprung or have to move. But you know me, I worry about you. I can tell you’re okay, though.” Sasha gave Justin another quick kiss and helped him up off the sun-lounge. When they were standing, he pulled Justin against him in a hug. “Promise you’re okay? Humour me.”
Justin cupped his hands to Sasha’s cheeks and gave him a lingering kiss. “I promise. I would tell you if I wasn’t. You’d know if I wasn’t. I definitely wouldn’t have an erection. I love you for worrying about me and caring for me. We’re both jetlagged and this’ll help us stay awake for a big longer. Might help us fall asleep too.”
Sasha nodded, figuring it was sound reasoning. He took Justin’s hand and they headed through the house to go back to their room upstairs. He could hear chatter and laughter from the living area downstairs as they passed and some people were in the bedrooms upstairs but Justin’s bedroom was the only one that overlooked the back garden. The other rooms were at the front of the house or the next level up. They slipped back into their room unnoticed and Justin hung the sign on the handle of his door before closing it to give them some privacy. “Wait, have got lube and stuff? I didn’t even think to pack any.”
“Baby, I packed lube before I packed clothes.” Justin went to his suitcase, unzipping it to dig around inside for his toiletries bag. “Condoms too but I don’t wanna bother with that this time. There’s tissues in the en-suite if you wanna grab them. Grab a towel too.” No one wanted to be stuck sleeping in a wet spot. He tossed the bottle of lube on the bed and peeled off his tank top and trackpants which he had gone commando in anyway. Getting naked was easy. He pushed the blankets aside and flopped back onto the bed, feeling the soft and soothing sea breeze coming through the window and hitting his body. He settled in, lethargically brushing his hand down his body to give himself a couple of strokes.
“Are you starting without me?” Sasha asked with a smirk, coming back with the box of tissues and a towel. He quickly undressed too and then crawled onto the bed to kneel over Justin. The slow kisses were his favourite, the ones where it felt like they would never get sick of exploring each other. This was the part of his sexuality a lot of people didn’t get. He was aSEXual, meaning he didn’t have sexual urges like general people but he had a lot of romantic and sensual urges, all the intimate things that weren’t sex. He had sexual urges for Justin and only Justin. Never came remotely close to having them for anyone else. Sex puzzled him before meeting Justin because he didn’t feel like it. He didn’t even really wonder about it beyond wondering what the fuss was all about. He’d never gotten naked in front of anyone before, not even Andi. Sex scenes in movies made him feel awkward, porn was something he found strange to watch the one time he did give it a go.
Even through all that, with a very sexy and sexual fiance (when Justin was in the mood, that was), it didn’t come naturally to him until they waded into it and he had the chance to warm-up in it, just like warming up for exercise. He’d even had times he and Justin were heading for sex that he got bashful about it, if they were trying new things or doing it somewhere unfamiliar, just like right now. He was more like asexual with a side order of grey-ace or demisexual towards Justin. Mostly, he had settled into his ace skin and no longer felt odd owning it as a big part of himself and no longer felt weird or broken for not having automatic sexual desire, like he had most of his teens. Justin helped him see that he didn’t need the sexual stuff to still have love and romance. “I love you so much,” he whispered, bumping his nose softly against Justin’s and tracing the tip of his tongue over Justin’s lip before they fell back into the deep kissing.
Justin loved Sasha exactly how he was, all that he was. He didn’t see his asexuality as a negative or a downside to anything. It was perfectly matched to him and their relationship was multi-faceted and well-rounded because of it. When they did make love, it was full of feeling and passion. That’s what he loved about it. He pulled Sasha down on top of him, the kiss continuing. Then they stopped, smiling at each other. He loved studying Sasha’s face closely, mapping his finger over his features so he never forgot them. He brushed his hand over Sasha’s back and squeezed his butt. There was no hurry about any of this. He laughed softly. “You look so tired, baby. You sure you want to keep going?”
“My boner’s literally hugging yours. I could be in a coma and I’d want to still keep going,” Sasha laughed. Then smiled, looking at Justin’s lips before giving him another kiss. Then he moved to lie beside Justin, putting the bottle of lube into Justin’s hand. “You know, it’s so special to be able to see you stable again. I mean, temporary jetlag thingo aside. We all know flying fucks with your brain chemistry until you can sleep it off. Overall, I mean. How much you’ve fought to get well after how ill you were. Now you’re about to take on the world and I get to be there to see it all. Not going to be anyone prouder in that audience than me. Expect maybe your dad. And your mom. And your sisters. I mean, I’m cool sharing it with them too,” he joked, brushing his hand over Justin’s toned stomach. “And damn, I have absolutely no objections to this growing six-pack from all those dance rehearsals. Now that’s something I’m not sharing with anyone.” He held his hand out for Justin to squeeze some lube onto his fingers, dipping his head to softly kiss over Justin’s chest to his stomach, mapping the tip of his tongue over the plains of Justin’s abs.
Justin laughed when Sasha’s lips were tickly against his stomach at first. He tossed the lube out of the way, wiping his hand over his hip so he could tangle his fingers through Sasha’s curly hair. He still for a few moments, biting on his lip at that first sensation of Sasha’s finger slipping inside him. No matter how much he did that, that first initial start was still a bit of a hurdle for him. It was like his body and mind needed a brief pause to know he wasn’t going to be harmed. It was something he spoke to Sasha about before they started sleeping together. Sasha more than understand and was always so gentle, giving Justin the time he needed to ease into things. “I wasn’t sure I’d come back this time. I felt like I was a different person. But you were always there reminding me I wasn’t. And I got scared you might never wanna touch me like this again.” He smiled when Sasha looked up at him. “Now I know you still did because it’s never been about what we do, it’s about what we feel. You know I wouldn’t be here where I am without you, right? Especially with this.”
Sasha nodded, settling in against Justin’s side, slowly preparing him for making love. He kissed the corner of Justin’s lips, nuzzling his nose to his cheek. “Baby, I know you don’t really remember much but when you’re psychotic, I witness you fighting your demons. It’s like they’re right there with you and reliving it. So, I really did think that once all that had come back to you, you might never want sexual contact ever again. Once I realised that you didn’t want to lose it, I always wanted to be your safe place.” He put his finger to Justin’s lips, gazing at him. “Did I tell you how sexy your new ink is?”
Justin’s publicity team had gone full steam ahead with his Rainbow Phoenix tour branding. He had gotten two new tattoos from Jace to make the occasion. The first was a small rainbow watercolour heartline on his chest above his heart, which was more about celebrating him surviving his bad relapse after his biological mother’s murder, an ordeal that should’ve killed him. He shouldn’t have survived it. Then on his back near his shoulder, an incredible original design by jace of a fine-line phoenix with rainbow feathers, little coloured stars on the tips of each, rising from rainbow flames. It was such breathtaking work that Justin asked for Jace’s artwork sketch to use as the logo for his tour and was getting it framed for the wall of his home. He convinced his dad to get ink at the same time, and he ended up getting the rainbow Celtic knot symbol for father and son on his upper arm which was on a pendant his dad had given to him during his recent recovery. It was all symbolic that Justin had started this next new phase of his life now he survived again. “Nowhere near as sexy as you feel pressed up against me naked. I’m starting to forget how to word…” They started kissing again and Justin’s breath hitched when Sasha’s fingers kicked his arousal up a few notches. He brushed his hand over Sasha’s hip, fingertips sweeping his hip bone. Justin had a huge thing for hip bones and happy trails, two things Sasha gloriously owned. He found Sasha’s dick, stroking his thumb over the hard flesh to the tip, wet and eager to take things further. It was also a huge turn-on for Justin knowing he was the key to Sash’s sexual urges. It made him hungry for it everytime they did it. He rolled over onto his side so Sasha was spooned up behind him. “Let’s go, baby, I need this.”
Sasha knew this next part could be a struggle for Justin too. It was always fine once they started Justin likened the start of sex when he bottomed to a plane taking off from the runway. He never liked taking off, it scared him and probably contributed to his anxiety of flying and motion sickness. Thankfully, this just made him a little uncomfortable, it didn’t make him motion sick. Sasha always wanted to take extra care with it. He cuddled Justin close, dropping soft kisses to the nape of his neck. As soon as he found the right position, he wrapped his arm around Justin, caressing his chest as he entered him. He took a deep breath with the rush of sensations going right for his dick once he was all the way and coaxed Justin into a kiss over Justin’s shoulder.
Justin had to pull out of the kiss to take a breath. He closed his eyes, a moan of pleasure falling from his lips as he buried his head against the pillow. He reached behind him to hold Sasha as they moved together but it wasn’t long before his dick needed some action. He found Sasha’s hand, entwining their fingers to wrap around his dick with some slow and purposefully strokes. There was always something so comforting about his bedroom here in his grandparents home. It had large windows and the sea breeze was fluttering in through the sheer curtains.
Justin was surprised when they managed to last and keep going for a length of time. He thought considering Sasha’s tiredness and attempt to stay awake until the evening to fight off the jetlag, it would be over quickly. It turned out to be a pretty passionate session and they came hard - together - and Sasha stayed spooned behind him, cuddling him as they rode out the post-coital warmth and breathlessness. He was panting heavily, trying to catch his breath as he hugged Sasha’s arm close to him. “Fuck, baby, that felt amazing. Don’t pull out yet, I want to keep feeling it…”
There was no answer and Justin realised Sasha had gone heavy in the after-sex snuggling. Sasha’s head was tucked in against the nape of Justin’s neck and he looked over his shoulder to see Sasha had crashed, totally out like a light. Justin smirked and rubbed Sasha’s hand affectionately. Sash had crashed so hard, he began snoring softly. Justin pulled the sheet up over them and settled in the cosy embrace. He was sleepy himself after the incredible orgasm and this felt like the perfect way to kick off their brief holiday in Australia.
