So, I've got my kid now, and I just wanted to put it out there that I'm happy for the lot of them to come to my place for New Year. They can do whatever teenagers do these days, and there'll be no booze or drugs anywhere near any of them. Beck and I'll be around, but leave them to chill on their own. And just for the record, there'll be plenty of rubbers in supply, because I'm pretty sure what teenagers do these days isn't that different to what they did in my day.

None of that shit is getting near my kid. He not well, or just struggling after the funeral? He's struck up a friendship with Jett, seems like a nice kid. Like he's been here forever. He's an easy kid, I lucked out.

It's already been near mine, and he was nearly gone before I ever got him. Bit of both. Poor kid gets bad migraines, and the stress of the funeral seemed to bring it on. Not a person in the place wasn't crying. All the parents, thinking it could've been their own in that box, no matter how pretty they made it for her. I feel like that with Jus, when the guilt about not having him the whole time isn't setting in. What's your kid like?

I don't know how you do it, dude. Except, now I know that you just do, for their sake. Feels strange being a dad. I don't really feel like one quite yet. I love having my kid here, though. Ah, fuck. Poor kid. I can't even fucking imagine burying a kid. They aren't supposed to go before you. Must've felt all too real a possibility for you. He's easygoing, sweet, calm, smart as all fuck, wicked sense of humour. Used to be quite active before he got ill. His ice hockey team was top of the high school championship.

You do. If they're in pain, you are. If they're happy, you are. You worry for them even if there's nothing to worry about. They're part of you. But you'll wake up one day and you'll feel like a dad, and that never goes away. It was horrific, mate. I spent the whole time feeling crook thinking about Justin being in a box like that. He's come so close. Justin said your kid is a spitting image of you. Feel like a mindfuck? How's he doing with the illness?
