"It's as if you know me better than I ever knew myself..."
Who? Angel and Austin
What? Twinsense
When? About a week after Beau's remission is confirmed
Where? The Watson-Shaw/Gresham-Shaw abode
Now that Beau's health was on the upswing, if taking its time given what his body had been put through in the process, Austin was more likely to take his time at home with having a shower and changing, because he knew that Beau would call him if he needed him to come back, and he knew that his husband was in the best of hands. But being healthier, Beau was getting back to his primed bitch ways when he thought Austin wasn't resting enough, or needed to go home for a bit. Austin tended to avoid that as much as possible, and that was part of the reason he was home right now.
The other part was that he really did need to talk to Angel. Rosie had already happily offered her uterus for 9 months of babysitting until Austin and Beau got to have a baby of their own, and Austin genuinely felt like his brother deserved a chance to at least discuss it with him before it became anymore serious than it already was. He and Beau wanted this, and Rosie had offered her help, but Austin wouldn't dream of doing any of this without talking to Angel about it first, even if it wasn't his other half's uterus, only recently vacated of Angel's own flesh and blood, because they were twins. But it was the fact that Rosie was Angel's partner and it would be her body carrying Austin and Beau's baby that made it even more pressing to talk about.
Austin found Angel snuggling Daisy on the sofa as she took her bottle, her hand resting, tiny and pale, on top of her daddy's. There was a moment or two where Austin just choked up watching them. This was what he dreamed of with a baby of their own. Sharing moments like these with Beau and their own son or daughter. It took a moment for him to compose himself before walking over to where Angel was sitting and taking a seat on the sofa. "Hi, AJ," he said, giving his brother a smile. "Lunch time for my favorite little princess, I see?"
