Who: Alec Campbell and Justin Campbell
What: First meeting
Where: Sydney, Australia
When: Friday evening

Alec knew this wasn't going to be easy. Not only had he been epically briefed by his mum and dad in-transit, he also had letters from his family at various points of his time away outlining what had been going down. Of course, all those letters also had been quite censored due to the fact they were screened coming in and Mark didn't want his kid's privacy breached. Bottom line was, Justin was a celebrity. That alone blew Alec's mind. Mark having a teenage kid blew his mind.

But a family Batcall had come through to Alec in England, so he now had a leave of absence from his job with the Airforce to come home. He had flown in to Sydney at the arse crack of dawn the day before. Literally. His friggen plane landed at 6am, on the dot. Both his parents had met him at the airport, but rather than going home, Alec agreed to check into a hotel for the night so he could sleep off a bit of the jetlag, and so his mum and dad could fill him in on what was going on. Justin didn't know he existed, for the sole reason that Mark hadn't wanted to saddle him with - on top of everything else - oh, by the way, you have another uncle in the thick of a warzone and there's always a chance he could get killed. Mark had noped that, and then some.

His mum and dad spent hours with him at the hotel the day before telling him as much as they could. Justin was apparently at their house, staying with a friend who had followed him when he bolted from New York. He bolted from New York because he nearly jumped off a bridge over there... the latest in a string of suicide attempts since finding Mark in New York. Justin had a severe form of Bipolar Disorder, along with PTSD from a childhood past of sexual assault. But despite that, he had this incredible inmate musical talent, and a theatre producer saw it and now he was a star. And all that was the censored version. The reason his mum had called Alec was because she wasn't just worried about Justin, she was worried about Mark, who had once again almost started drinking. It had caused a breakdown between him and Justin that she feared might reach irreparable levels.

His mum had called him as soon as she got news that Justin had run to the airport and boarded to a flight to Sydney. The red tape was easy for Alec to get through. As soon as he told his superiors his nephew had attempted suicide and his brother was having a breakdown, they signed him off straight away. He was at Heathrow Airport before the ink was dry on the application. Now, he was back home. Justin had slept no more than three hours collectively since he had arrived in Sydney. He went to a doctor willingly to get his medication here, but he wouldn't take the sedatives prescribed. It couldn't necessarily be classified paranoia. He just had high-functioning anxiety and trust issues.

Sitting there at the kitchen bench, he was reading copies of Justin's medical records that Mark had faxed to the doctor here in Australia. Luckily it was a good read, because it prevented him from perving on Reecy's arse. His mum and dad had taken Justin for a walk on the beach, hoping it might burn him out so he would sleep. Reecy had answered the door to Alec, and clearly hadn't known who he was either. Could he help it he was a massive flirt, and they maybe ended up having a quickie when he had played the mystery card and she had flirted back? That wasn't meant to happen. Then he had gotten a text of his dad saying Justin got a few steps onto Bondi Beach, got recognised by a fan, and freaked out, trying to run again. They had bundled him back up in the car to bring him back. Alec was surprised to find he was nervous.

He sat there at the kitchen counter reading the clinical notes, shaking his head. He actually felt sick to the stomach reading about Justin on the roof with Sam. Reecy was making tea when Alec's parents came home, and following him was this kid... a kid who looked ill. He actually looked like he could pass for a very good-looking zombie. Shit, there was no doubt he was Mark's. Well, he could be Mark or Sam's, but Sam was a one-woman guy and would never have fucked unprotected in college. Justin was wearing a hoodie about three sizes too big for him, his hands pulled up into the sleeves, the hood up, his arms folded over his chest. He was pale and washed out with dark circles under his eyes. Eyes that were flat, bloodshot and may have looked right through Alec if he wasn't an unfamiliar face.

"Justin, sweetheart, this is someone we want you to meet. This is going to be a shock, but the reason you haven't met him sooner is because he's a doctor with the Airforce and he's been posted to Afghanistan," Alec's mum explained. "This is Alec. He was our foster son for many years, but he's always been one of us in our eyes. Your uncle..."

Justin tried to kill himself again. Why does life have to be so fucking hard for him? He deserves the whole world, and instead, he goes through this kind of torture every damn day.

Your kid is fucking incredible, Sparky. He shouldn't be with us anymore. Why are you screwing him up more than he already is. I genuinely want to know what the fuck is going through your head. He's screaming out to you, to his mother, to his boyfriend, to everyone he loves to understand.

Who? Justin Campbell and Gen Hart
What? Being there when it hurts
When? After the arrival from the States
Where? Justin's hospital room

Justin had been sleeping fitfully off and on since Gen and Mark's arrival at the hospital. This wasn't exactly that they'd expected on their arrival in Sydney, but, as they'd learned early on with Justin, there were things you could never plan for and expect. You just had to get used to dealing with the fact that the child you loved was broken and hurting and needed support. And when those facts failed to be remembered, it was a massive failure on Mark and Gen's part. When Mark had found that he wasn't Justin's medical proxy anymore, it had been a huge shock to the system and he had disappeared to go back to his parents house after his foster brother. He was angry... furious beyond words, and Gen had known better than to try to stop him. There was no stopping him when he was like this.

Instead, she'd chosen to stay with Justin, needing to be near her son and try with all she was worth to sort things out one way or another. Justin was hurting. He needed a united family that at the very least proved to him that they wanted him to be a part of things. That was the starting point.

Who? Lorenzo Chevalier and Jude Willis
What? Being where you need to be
When? Saturday
Where? Mt. Sinai

Jude had been doing his part to help out with Holly, but he knew that he needed to see Renz, and sooner rather than later. Jude wasn't stupid. He knew that his head-in-the-sand ostrich game hadn't at all been helpful or necessary for his family. They needed him, and he needed them, and playing games with their emotions was only hurtful to everyone he loved. He hadn't ever intended to be that asshole playing games with the people he loved. He was actually a caring person, and wanted to help. But he had lost himself in his own pain and confusion. It wasn't something that he would forgive himself for easily. But he had to start first by being there for the people he loved.

Renz needed his loved ones more than anything right now, and that was what had Jude finishing out his shift with his nursing trainer and heading to his best friend's room... Fuck, but he should've been here all along. Renz was sitting up in bed sipping a bottle of water slowly when Jude knocked on the door and popped his head in. "Hey, dude," he said softly. "How're you feeling?"
