Soul

The general consensus was that you had one soul mate, but Lee knew he had two. To spoon and be spooned at the same time wasn’t something everyone would get to experience, but it was one of Lee’s favourite things. His lovers knew he could have a diva streak a mile wide, but they still loved him. The funny thing was, he couldn’t remember the last time they had an actual argument. They disagreed, they all had their moments of bad moods, but they didn’t fight. Not since that one time they had a three-way punch up when they were still in high school and swore not to fall into that trap again (or give each other concussions or bloody noses).

Lee was sitting on the floor with piles and piles of wedding notes, samples, swatches, invoices, and lists for their friends’ wedding coming up on Valentine’s Day. He always worked in organised chaos, and this wedding one was in particular he wanted to get perfect because the grooms had been through a lot and deserved it. Plus, they were able to do what Lee, Anthony, and Hayden couldn’t, and for that reason, Lee might – just a little bit – be living vicariously through Jesse and Jace.

He looked up from his work to gaze across the room at Anthony and Hayden, sitting on the sofa together holding hands, chatting out Anthony’s crappy day. They had been together nearly ten years now. No, they couldn’t get married. They couldn’t get that official piece of paper. But that was okay, because as far as Lee was concerned, they were every bit a married union as anyone who legally was. They worked, and they worked in their own way. They worked pretty fucking well, as far as he was concerned too. They loved each other unconditionally and he wouldn’t swap this for any conventional “norm” the world had to offer.

Who: Lee McKenna, Anthony Ford and Hayden Newton
What: Three dicks heads hearts are better than one
Where: Home
When: Monday morning

They had one of those glorious days off together. It wasn't that they never had them, because they usually could nab one a week, but this time they had two days in a row, and next week, they had the full week off to go home to Canada for Christmas where they would do the rounds of all three of their families together. Lee couldn't wait. He needed the break. Especially considering he had stayed up most of the night last night going over details of Jace and Jesse's wedding because he really wanted it to be perfect for them. That pair were what Lee imagined himself, Anthony and Hayden to be if they could get married.

So, running on his second cup of coffee after two hours sleep when his buzzing mind wouldn't switch off, he was sat at the kitchen table while Hayden made them breakfast and Anthony was making some tea (chastising Lee fondly for having too much coffee when he should be chilling). Lee looked at the sheets he had of the wedding plans so far and then let out a heavy, dramatic sigh. "This is not fair, I want to get married. I'm a bad wedding planner. I'm supposed to be impartial," he declared and held up the picture of the rainbow cake Jace had picked. "I want one."
