Relegated to the backseat. Rose drives like she was a reject from Fast and the Furious for going too fast. Angel serenading her with the Shaggy version of Angel. Boy knows how to rap. I can't even whistle #roadtrip

I know you're busy, baby, but when you get this, do you think you could meet me on the 4th floor of the hospital? Cardiac Unit. Long story. I'll fill you in when you get here. PS. Don't freak, I'm not the patient.

Who: Ash Emmerson and Gabe George
What: Debriefing
Where: Cardiac Unit, Mount Sinai
When: The evening following Harley's questioning

Ash was exhausted and felt like he could sleep for a week. Working in the business he did, he had seen a lot of things in the time he was a qualified attorney, but never had he nearly had a client drop dead on him. He had known about Harley's condition, he just hadn't had much warning of it. Or warning of Harley's case in general. He had a brief meeting with him and his mom in confidence prior to the questioning, but by now, Ash was pretty skilled in skimming a client file on short notice. When Mrs Rayner had told him Harley had cardiomyopathy, he actually had to rapidly look it up on Wikipedia so he at least had a brief understanding of the fact putting too much pressure on Harley could be dangerous. But Harley hadn't wanted the cops to know, and Ash respected that. It just meant none of them had warning of what happened.

He had seen that Harley was freaking out, which was why he tried to cut the interview off where it was leading. Then blood Jared had to come in all guns blazing and literally give Harley a freaking heart attack. The kid literally went into cardiac arrest pinned up against the wall by Jared. Luckily they all knew their first aid. Ash had taken the chest compressions and Julie the mouth-to-mouth to keep him going until the paramedics came and shocked a rhythm back into his heart. Euan had held Jared off and away from the chaos, but it was obvious Jared got the shock of his freaking life. Probably second only to seeing his brother beaten to a pulp. Ash wasn't without sympathy, but it was really the wrong time to blatantly point out to the guy that the CPR he was witnessing on his 'suspect' was exactly what said suspect had done to his brother. Hopefully he would go away and think about it, but for now, Ash had a restraining order slapped on Jared to not approach Harley's hospital room. It would only be once Jared cooled down that Ash would allow it to be lifted.

Now he was standing outside Harley's room, tied loosened, arms crossed as he just watched the guy asleep in the bed inside. Harley was hooked up to every machine imaginable. Ash felt responsibly and guilty and he didn't even know why. Like this whole case collectively for everyone, Ash was feeling emotionally involved and it was hard.
