Jude caught himself smiling again while he listened to Winston speak. He was pretty sure Winston was the living breathing connotation of 'waxing lyrical'. He knew Winston was a journalist and a really effusive and emotive writer but it was different hearing him speak to reading his writing. Jude knew he could sit and listen to Winston talk for hours on end about anything and everything. But even more so than that, after such a brief time dating, Winston just knew him. He wasn't at all averted or intimidated by Jude's flaws. On the contrary, he wanted to embrace them. It was dizzying in way, to have these deep feelings for someone again. It was the cherry on top that Winston was talking about getting naked in between his beautiful and kind reassurances about Jude's insecurities that had been simmering away out of his control. Opening up to Reecy about them had definitely helped, but it was more significant to have the flowing lines of communication with Winston so soon into their new relationship.
