Karla had hoped that, somehow, the time away in LA with Adrian would be beneficial for Richie. He hadn't been very forthcoming with talking to her about what was going on, and she'd tried with a couple of his Facebook posts and texts to get information out of him, but he seemed more than determined to shut her down. She couldn't begin to figure out why until Miles mentioned Richie bringing up rape, and somehow, it all started to click then, though specifics were hard to be sure of. After his post about pro-life preaching, and now this, she couldn't help wondering if it was all tied together somehow.
She was escorted to Richie's room, and her son looked horrible. It was to be expected with hemophilia, but it never got easier seeing him like this. It hurt like hell as a mom to see your baby hurt at all. She sighed softly as she settled into the side of the bed and looked at him, tears glistening in her eyes. "A tattoo, Richard?!" she asked, trying to use her exasperated mom voice, but losing it in the tears. "Oh, my god, baby... What on earth were you thinking?!"
